Occasionally, customs come available, sometimes on a semi-permanent structure and sometimes in limited stock. This section hopes to set some expectations and make clear my limitations on customs.
“Why is this model sold out or not available?” Some models are not offered for customs because the mold is worn out or its in the process of a rework. Otherwise, it was on a limited availability and those slots have been taken.
“When will customs for X model open up again?” Unfortunately, this is not a question that may have an immediate answer. If it broke its mold, then it could be a few months. Same if it was limited. You can send a message, but in general my twitter will have information.
“What is the text field for?” I put in a text field in case anyone has reference images or material, or wants to leave a message (IE, its a birthday present, or a note about shipping). It has a high character limit, but please do not abuse it with extreme instructions for a perfect pour — sadly I cannot really measure in millimeters and perfect exacting pours, but silicone is a liquid medium heavily impacted by fluid and gravity.
“Do you offer hand-painting?” At this point, no (the exception of this being the teeth, nose, and gums of Torp’s signature). I have learned that asking me to do a complex, hand-painted pour will often result in several (and I do mean SEVERAL) flops that I often cannot sell, costing me immense amounts of money. I have genuinely spent $1000 in silicone for a $80 custom before, and its ruining my business and myself. It will also result in a severely delayed custom for you, and a whole lot of stress for both of us. In the future, after I work out better equations for silicone thickener, I may feel comfortable offering these, though it will be at a large up-charge and a case-by-case basis.
Please DO NOT use the extra text fields in custom orders to ask for complex hand-painting. Any order with it will be refunded and canceled.
“Will you mix custom colors?” The solid pigments I have are limited, and really do not often lend themselves to easy mixing. Often, the pigments making up the overall color are weird or do not lend themselves well to combining with other colors. However, I will mix custom colors if I feel like it is possible, so its always best to reach out to me.
